The worship brought
forth the miraculous...
Then the miraculous brought
forth a song...
The story brought
forth a movement...
Stephanie's story started on September 29, 1983. She was born a chubby little red head with a huge call on her life. At 12 years old, the enemy would begin his attempts at stopping her purpose.
She attempted suicide, for the first time, when she was 12 years old. From the ages of 12 to 15, Stephanie was admitted into psych wards six different times. She was diagnosed with several mental illnesses and told she would never be emotionally "normal". She was taking several medications just to function. She was too young to understand that what she was facing was spiritual warfare, because she had an anointing on her life. She reached her lowest point when she overheard one of the psychiatrist say to a coworker, "this girl is unreachable."
It wasn't until she was locked in a "suicide watch" room that she understood the power of her worship. This room was floor to ceiling carpet and had nothing in it. It was just an empty room that locked from the outside. As she sat in that cold room, she began to sing. All she had in that moment was her voice. As the nurses began to gather around the small window, the atmosphere shifted. In that moment, Stephanie recognized the power in her voice as she worshiped.
By 15, she was off all medication and living a happy life. She sang anywhere she could and would write music daily. But, life took a shocking turn when her mother experienced a nervous breakdown. Her Christian mother who had always taught Stephanie to live for Christ, was now in a downward spiral of alcohol, sex, depression and psych wards. In that instant, Stephanie went from being a young teenage daughter, to a mother of her own mother. Her mother went from being a role model of how to live, to an example of how not to live (her relationship with her mother, Terry Dudley, has since been restored and Terry also now has a ministry of her own). In the midst of all this, Stephanie was facing sexual, emotional and physical abuse by a number of people, some including her pastors. She had no one to protect her and felt alone and trapped. By 17 she realized home was no longer safe. She dropped out of high school, started working 3 jobs and got herself a run down apartment downtown. It was hard, but she felt safe because she was in control of her own environment.
At 20 years old, Stephanie married her childhood sweetheart. Things were wonderful. She was happy. They began to start a family and by the time Stephanie was 29 years old, they had 4 beautiful children and ministry was their heart.
But, the enemy was not done. He couldn't take Stephanie out emotionally or mentally, so his new attempts would be physical attacks. At 30 years old, after 5 years of strange symptoms, Stephanie was diagnosed with several progressive auto immune disorders that would attack her organs and muscular system. The greatest attack of her system came in October of 2017 (see first video). Little did the enemy know, the very thing he would use to try to kill her, is the very thing that would propel her ministry and start the "Worship Anyway Movement".
Her story is powerful. Her story is miraculous. And she is still here today because she CHOOSES to WORSHIP ANYWAY...no matter what she is facing. When things are good, she worships. When things are bad, she worships. If He never does another thing for her, she will STILL choose to worship. You will often hear Stephanie say, "He's already done enough to deserve a lifetime of my worship."
